Aix Historic Center & Cézanne's Landscapes Private access only
Half-day tours except Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.
Program :
This unique tour combines a guided tour of the historic heart of Aix-en-Provence's architectural heritage, followed by an immersion in Cézanne's inspiring landscapes: a 3-hour stroll from city to country, combining nature and culture in the Pays d'Aix terroir.
On the menu, we'll meander along the typical narrow streets steeped in history around the Cathédrale Saint-Sauveur, discover the picturesque squares and mossy fountains of the Cours Mirabeau, the elegance of the private mansions of the Mazarin district, and all that makes up the heritage charm of Aix-en-Provence, an elegant Mediterranean city with Roman roots...
... And then off to the countryside, soon to join the landscapes that inspired Cézanne's work.
You'll be amazed at how close you can get to this magnificent natural environment right on the edge of the old town. In just twenty minutes, we'll see the iconic mineral silhouette of Mont Sainte-Victoire, then the Bibémus quarries, the Zola dam and the Tholonet valley - all must-sees for art and history lovers !
